The use of light in the Teatre el Musical reaches, among Valencian architecture, one of its most poetic, dramatic and glorious expressions.
Shapes, volumes, lights and shadows are drawn before our eyes. Streams of light that penetrate between the folds of its wooden ceilings or reflected between the surfaces of large concrete boxes converted into skylights.
To inhabit the emptiness of its ruins means to understand the importance that another type of light - electric light - has also had when it comes to provoking emotion in the heart of a building that was, for so many years, a cinema. For the revelation of this light, however, the absence of the first is needed.
Once in the darkness, 'Sota la llum' will be a spectacle of electric light and music, presented as a succession of images and rhythms that run through the architecture of the theatre with episodes of mystery, light and shadow. All of this, capable of mixing with everything and with each other, in the middle of a hall converted into a dance floor. It is then that the incidence of light on the concrete will reveal the texture of wood that one day, while the building was being born, was its skin.
In the end, they are only a succession of images and assumptions; electronic games between bodies that happen again under the light.
